The CAIR Collection
The CAIR Collection launches on July 28
In memory of John Lewis Turton
All proceeds from this collection will be donated to Clemson All In Recovery (CAIR), a student organization at Clemson University that supports students in recovery. When thinking about my next collection, I knew I wanted it to have a bold purpose—and I was driven by a deep desire to honor the life of a family friend, John Lewis Turton, who passed away earlier this year from fentanyl poisoning. As I started to imagine this new line, a quote from my favorite memoir by Matthew Perry echoed in my mind:
“Addiction, the big terrible thing, is far too powerful for anyone to defeat alone. But together, one day at a time, we can beat it down.”
— Matthew Perry, Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing
After talking with the Turton family and carefully choosing the colors, the CAIR Collection came to life. With their blessing, this line is dedicated to the memory of John Lewis Turton. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to Clemson All In Recovery (CAIR), a student organization at Clemson University that supports students in recovery, their allies, and anyone affected by addiction. CAIR’s mission is to provide a safe, healthy peer support network—because no one should face addiction alone, especially during such a pivotal time in life.
The CAIR Collection features a variety of mixed media sailboat pieces—including four with the iconic Clemson Tiger Paw. This is a nod to The Sea Tiger, the sailboat where John spent many cherished summer days with his family exploring the Atlantic.
To everyone who supports this collection—thank you. Thank you for honoring John's legacy, for raising awareness, and for helping provide hope and healing to those who need it most. Your support means more than words can express.
